Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. sirloin or top round steak

Marinade

  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. wasabi powder
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine marinade ingredients and mix well.

Trim all fat from steak. Cut steak across grain into thin strips (approx. 1/4-inch thick). Place beef strips in sealable plastic bag, toss to coat, and refrigerate 1-3 hours.

Soak 16 wooden skewers (6-inch) in water for 10 minutes. Remove beef from marinade and discard marinade.

Thread beef, weaving back and forth, onto skewers.

Place skewers on grid over medium ash-covered coals. Grill, uncovered, 5-6 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness.

Serve with Fiery Japanese Dipping Sauce.

Suggestions

Great also as a main course served over steamed rice.
