Chuckwagon Beef and Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sirloin steak, cubed
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp. flour mixed with 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/3 cup rice, prepared according to package directions

Instructions

Heat oil in heavy frying pan over medium-high heat; brown beef cubes, add garlic powder, 2 tsp. flour and salt and pepper.  Remove beef, set aside.

Add 1 cup broth to pan and thicken with flour mixture. Return beef to pan.  Simmer 30 minutes, or until beef is tender.

Serve over rice.
