Garlic Mashed Potatoes Side Dishes

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. white-skinned potatoes, washed and cubed
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

In large saucepan, cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook until tender (15-20 minutes).

Meanwhile, peel garlic, place in small saucepan, cover with water and simmer until very soft. Drain and cool.

Drain water from cooked potatoes, add garlic, cream and butter and puree with electric mixer until smooth.

Suggestions

For a fast version, try one of the frozen mashed potatoes available in your grocery store. Cook garlic as directed above and proceed according to package directions.
