Ingredients
- 2 beef top loin steaks cut 1-inch thick
- 1 tsp. grated lemon zest
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Instructions
In small bowl, combine lemon zest, garlic, thyme and pepper. Press mixture into both sides of steaks.
Place steaks on grid over medium ash-covered coals. Grill uncovered 16-18 minutes for medium-rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally.
Trim fat from steaks. Carve steaks crosswise into thick slices. Season with salt as desired.
Tips from Our Cook
When removing zest from lemon, be careful not to grate into the bitter, white pith. Steaks can also be broiled in the oven.
