Ingredients

  • 1 flank steak, approximately 1-1/2 lbs.
  • 1/2 cup Burgundy wine
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 small shallot, chopped
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme leaves

Instructions

Combine wine, oil shallot, garlic, bay leaves, basil, oregano and thyme. Place flank steak in sealable plastic bag; add marinade turning to coat. Close bag securely. Marinate in refrigerator 6 to 8 hours to overnight, turning occasionally.

Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on rack in broiler pan 3-4 inches from heat source.

Broil 12 to 14 minutes, to desired doneness for rare to medium, turning once. Carve across the grain into thin slices.
