Ingredients

  • 1 1/2-2 lb. top round steak, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 1/3 cup walnut halves

Instructions

Combine soy sauce, ginger and Worcestershire sauce in a shallow baking dish or plastic bag for marinade. Cut steak into 1-inch wide strips and place in marinade for approximately 15 minutes.

Place 1 Tbsp. walnut halves on each slice of beef. Working from one end, roll each slice around walnuts, securing with a wooden toothpick. Place roll-ups in a glass baking dish and drizzle with marinade. At this point, canapes can be covered and refrigerated to cook the next day.

Place roll-ups on a pre-heated broiling pan and broil approximately 4-inches from a pre-heated broiler on high for approximately 3 - 5 minutes or until done.

Suggestions

Substitute whole almonds or pecan halves for the walnut halves.
