Meet the Ranchers
Agriculture is the fabric of our country and hard working families make it possible for everyone to enjoy high-quality and wholesome food. Cattle farming and ranching is not only the largest sector of agriculture in Texas, but the lone star state is also the largest beef producing state in the country.
Texas beef comes from Texas families, where 97 percent of cattle farms and ranches are family run. Caring for animals is a family tradition handed down and improved upon from generation to generation. Cattle farmers and ranchers are committed to caring for their animals, ensuring they always have room to roam and grow, access to clean water, balanced nutritious feed and humane treatment during all life stages.
More than 135,000 cattle farmers and ranchers across Texas work hard each and every day to safely, humanely and efficiently raise cattle that become wholesome and nutritious beef. Let us introduce a few of these dedicated Texas families and take a journey into their daily lives to see firsthand their commitment to the animals, the land and creating a quality product.
Across the country there are more than half a million cattle farms and ranches, and each is as unique as the people who own and operate them. These farming and ranching families have one thing in common though, their dedication to thoughtfully raise cattle to provide tender, delicious and healthful beef!
